The Monster Known As Maliya

Yeah, I know. I should have an eye trained on my 22 month old. I get it really I do. But life happens and when you're not feeling too great and it's a busy day, well...sometimes your eye drifts. So, this is why our 22 month old is a monster. She is SMART! I mean, she picks up on things so quickly if you blink, you miss what she's learned. You see, I was decorating Cayden's birthday cake and using a tube of blue colored icing to write "Happy Birthday Cayden" on the cake. Maliya was watching... Then I gave Maliya the decorating tip to "suck" the icing from it. She did and of course loved it, wanting more. So I gave her a bit of the icing left in the tube. Tayla was painting, with oil paints, from tubes. Oh yeah you know where this is going... Maliya was watching... When Tayla finished painting and went to wash up before putting her paints away, Maliya took the opportunity to hop up on a chair and grab a tube of paint. Then proceeded to open it, and squeeze out some paint, INTO her mouth. MMMM! That was delicious! Oh wait, no it wasn't. So then we got paint spit all over the place and hands desperately trying to wipe the paint out of her mouth. Yeah, she won't be eating paint anytime soon. But, that's not all. Tayla wanting me to paint her finger and toe nails. So, we did a whole work up! Clippers, files, buffers, shiners, and then of course, polish. It was a mani/pani any little girl would love. Maliya was watching... Tayla went upstairs to put her polish away. Maliya climbed up on a chair and got a hold of the polish. I don't think she could open it right away, so, she must have tried and tried to get that polish open. But! She did! Hurrah! And so the painting began. She painter her "finger nails" which ended up being most of her fingers. She painted her little "toe nails" which covered her entire toes and a good bit of her little chubby feet. She is a master of painting! We already know she is a professional wall artist. She's just branching out. She must have thought that after battling that bottle to get it open this was war because she also painted some war stripes on her face. Oh this little 22 month old monster. She has some serious laugh power that's for sure! She got a bath in nail polish remover and while she was there with her diaper off getting all clean up in the remover to head into a bath. She pooped. Yes, that's right, poop. Oh it wasn't a nice stick of poop, oh no it was diarrhea poop. I mean, what's better after cleaning up paint and nail polish, then cleaning up poop? Really nothing! It's the best! This has got to be the best time I've ever had. I laughed so hard that I have really sore muscles this morning. But thankfully, a really clean baby!

No Pictures Yet

Okay, it's only been a minute since I wrote about adding pictures and so, no, I have not added any; Nor taken any to add. But I will verbally catch you up on what is going on with us. So, things are beginning to smooth out. All the rockiness and bumps are behind us and we have been really pleased with our businesses. Fit Body Boot Camp Utah is holding it's own, and with a little more love will hopefully begin growing again soon. Your Weight is Over Utah is growing like gangbusters. (Oh yeah, that's an awesome phrase) I'm so excited about it, but I want to tell a bit about why other than the successful business reason.

So, I went in and took my blood lipids test with Cory. Although my cholesterol is astonishingly great, my glucose levels set me as pre-diabetic. This is not a pleasant thing for me because I have several relatives who suffer from Type II diabetes. I decided with Cory that I needed to start our nutrition protocol to help my poor overworked pancreas get back to health. And so it began. My first week I was amazed at how my body reacted to my lower intake of carbs. At first, not so bad, then BAM! GIVE ME CARBS! was the resounding response on my fourth day. But my efforts were not futile and I resisted my inner voice, stuck to the protocol and found that the rest of my week was a satisfied success. I went back into the office to find that my efforts were rewarded. I had lost 8 1/4 inches off of my body, 1% of my body's fat and 5 pounds. That was great, but another side-effect is more energy and a happier mood.

This is happening all over with our clients! Everyone is having success and feeling great. We are really happy to be helping people get healthy. Like one of our clients reduced his cholesterol ratio over 200%. He raised his good cholesterol and lowered his bad in just 6 weeks. Awesome! We've help a Type I diabetic lessen her insulin intake by half! So, yeah, we're really happy with this business.

So, kiddo stuff. Tayla recently turned 8. A huge benchmark for our little girl. She is an amazing person. She has compassion and love just eeking from her. She is a big cleaning helper (although we're working on her picking her stuff up and not dropping it wherever to begin with) but she loves to help whenever she's asked.

Cayden is getting ready to celebrate his 7th birthday this Saturday, and no, I am soooooo not ready! But I will be sure to build him a cake and have some fun. He is an extremely smart little boy as his teacher has told us. He's a little too smart for his own good though and gets a bit bored in class. So he fills his time up waiting by drawing aliens all over the backs of his worksheets.

Bryson, oh my little Bryson. He's four and a half and yes, he's a big brother. I understand his is to Maliya what Bruce was to Malaena growing up. So history must repeat itself. He even looks a lot like Bruce... so I guess it's in his genes. He is Maliya's "mother hen" and loves to tell her what she can't do. Which doesn't get a great response from Maliya. However, he has saved my walls from her art many a times and for that I am grateful!

And then there was Maliya. What can I say? She's almost two. That should about cover it for all you moms, you get it! She is (as mentioned above) my wall artist, gum eating, makeup putting on, amazingly smart and stubborn little baby. She loves to get into my purse and enjoys whatever she finds in there. My wallet? emptied. My gum? pack eaten. My makeup? smeared all over her face. My pen? new picture on the wall. Yes, if she sees you do it, she will try it and usually she succeeds. She has currently begun saying "hug it" if she wants to hug something, because when we were in the store the other day, she saw a stuffed bunny that was way bigger than her and she wanted it. So I gave it to her. She did not want to let go, and so I pried it from her tiny little arms and hands which were holding on for dear life.

Yes, my kids are my sunshine!

So, Cory and I celebrated our ninth anniversary this past week. Yes nine years, we can't really believe it ourselves. But we have Tayla to prove it to us. We enjoyed a nice day together on our anniversary and then went out this past weekend to spend sometime together sans kids. (Thanks Meemo!)
We have gotten moved into our new place and we have a year lease. Yay! So no moving at least for a year. (I hope it's longer!!!!) I'm still unpacking a few boxes here and there but for the most part we are all moved in and enjoying the more space. I sure have been enjoying the bigger kitchen space, that is definite!

Well, that's about all of the updating for now. So, let's hope I can add some pictures in to spice up this blog!

Impressions

I am impressed with myself for getting back to "blogging" within a month's time. I have come to discover to make a good impression with a blog that I should add pictures. I guess I am impressed to do so.

Keeping Up With A Blog

So, I don't really know why I'm doing this. Maybe it's the pressure of everyone else having a blog and how "cool" it is to have your own blog. Maybe I'm bored because taking care of a husband, myself, and four kids and helping build two businesses just isn't enough to fill up my time. Maybe it's just because I have the most awesome life and family and people just need to know about it to feel fulfilled in their own lives. Whatever the reason, here it goes. Time to start a blog.
